WHO reports on adolescent health

A new report from the World Health Organization urges national and international policy action to address the health burden on teenagers. Road crashes are the leading cause of death worldwide, and second in the overall burden of disease, according to the WHO study. In addition, many of the lifestyle choices and habits that can lead to obesity or diseases in later life are established during adolescence, emphasising the need to provide safe environments for walking and cycling as mobility options.
